NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER IN GAINESVILLE, GA & SURROUNDING AREAS
PRIOR TO YOUR SESSION
Before the shoot, please feed baby 2-3 hours prior, and plan on feeding him/her as soon as you arrive. Also, please do not let baby sleep beforehand, instead try giving them a bath, let them kick with only a diaper, tickle his toes, and even let them fuss for a little bit (no pacifiers) for the few hours beforehand. Keeping baby awake is very important. It ensures those squishy, sleepy newborn pictures that are so cute! Many parents come in saying "baby has been sleeping all morning, but trust me, he sleeps SO good this time of day!" only to have baby wake up, become fussy and prolong the photography process.
How Long does the Photo Sessions Last?: Sessions last between 2-3 hours, sometimes longer if baby is a light sleeper, or is hungry! The easiest way to ensure a sleepy baby is the willingness to nurse/bottle feed off and on during the session.
IN THE STUDIO
What to Expect: It will be very warm and noisy in the studio. I will have a space heater during our session and the room we will be at least 75 degrees. I also have 3 noise machines going. Due to this, I come dressed for a warm few hours and suggest you do too!
If you plan to have siblings photographed, I only ask that when they are not a part of the session to have someone take them home, to a park or to go grab a bite to eat we want to ensure a calm and peaceful environment for the star of the show!
Attire: Please dress baby in something that snaps or zips and nothing that goes over they head. No onsies, socks or hand mits.
Bathe baby the night before and apply lotion.
What to Bring: Bring a passy even if you don't use one or plan to use one in the future. The passy you should bring is the one the hospital provided as they don't leave marks around the mouth. Bring enough bottles/formula for 3 feedings. Bring any diapering items you will need.
STYLING FOR THE FAMILY
For Mom & Dad: Mom & Dad you are a big part of the show. Photographing the connection between you and your baby is one of my all time favorite things. Just as they encourage in the hospital, skin to skin contact creates the most beautiful photographs.
Dads: if you prefer not to be shirtless I ask that you bring a nice fitting v-neck t-shirt to wear with a good, snug pair of jeans. Neutral colors are best. black, grey, white, tan etc.
Moms: Bring a variety of loose-fitting tank tops. Keep the color neutral and design simple. Be sure that you have no nail polish as your hands will often appear in the images. Also, my goal is to photograph using the most flattering angles and light to bring out the natural beauty of your family.

For Siblings: Including older siblings in your newborn's portraits is the perfect way to capture those fleeting moments in time.
Sister(s): I can provide a wrap that will act as the perfect top, or please bring along a snug fitting tank, t-shirt or dress in a neutral color. I ask that girls hair be natural (or in braids) and free of bows, headbands, etc. Just as with mom, no nail polish please.
Brother(s): A neutral t-shirt or dress shirt and a snug pair of jeans or they can go shirtless. Please take a few moments to chat with your guy about this so he feels prepared for the session - though if he prefers not, a tight-fitting neutral t-shirt is fine.
